:Are you referring to :Category:Europe? This was made because we seem to have both a category and article for each country and continent. We're trying to effectively communicate serious information, and having multiple pages for each subject could be confusing (even if there is an obvious distinction to regular wiki users). However, I am inclined to agree, so long as there is a very obvious link to the main subject article. ::Yes. In my regular wikis I put Catmore (which you can copy from [[Genealogy:} at the top of most categories as well as having the "main" article on top of the articles list. And we well presumably have very few links pointing to categories, so that very few "ordinary" readers will see anything other than the articles. Keep up the great work! — Robin Patterson (Talk) 01:27, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Forums: Index > Watercooler > Category pages should not transclude articles

Wiki category pages are for the purpose of displaying subcategories, articles, and media. Users should not have to scroll past repeated material from articles to see the essential contents. — Robin Patterson (Talk) 00:37, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
